国際会議 プログラム委員 前田 章夫
（１）１９９８年６月、Snowbird (Utah)で行われた米国光生物学会のときに開かれた第１回の国際光生物学プログラム委員会（委員長 Nancy Oleinick）に出席。各委員の専門別分担が決まる。Plenery Lecturer を推薦名簿より投票により決定する（その後進展なし）。
（２）国際光生物学会議の委員会（会長Pill Soon-Song) に和田会長の代理で出席。２０００年の国際会議の時に提案する規約改正案の審議。名称をInternational Union of Photobiologyとする（これは前回のウイーンでの会議での決定）。１国から二つ以上の機関の参加が可能になる。2000年のときのFinsen medal, Finsen Award Lectureship, Edna Roe Award Lectureship の推薦受け付けは１９９９年７月１日まで。次回の欧州光生物学会議のときの委員会で審議。
（３）国際会議の会長であるDr. Francis Gasparroよりの依頼で、First circularの送付先として、和田会長、桜井さん、光医学光生物学会、放射線影響学会各事務局を紹介。国際会議の案内にでるPAJ の紹介文を、和田会長、津田次期会長との相談の上送付。
The Photobiology Association of Japan (PAJ) was established in 1982 as a j oint organization of 14 academic societies, which shared interest in photobiology. Though some members were changed after then, PAJ plays steadily active role in promoting photobiology in Japan. Now it is composed of The Japan Society of Plant Physiologists, The Biophysical Society of Japan, The Japanese Biochemical Society, The Japan Radiation Research Society, The Japanese Society for Photomedicine and Phtotobiology, The Chemical Society of Japan, The zoological Society of Japan, and other 5 societies, and is managed by representatives from these societies. The president in 1997-8 is Dr. Masamitsu Wada of Tokyo Metropolitan University and the president elect (the president in 1999-2000) is Dr. Motoyuki Tsuda of Himeji Institute of Technology. The association has been holding Photobiology Symposium every year, sponsored many scientific meetings on photobiology, and has played a key role in getting the research fund for the splendid works on photobiology. PAJ also sponsored the 11th International Congress on Photobiology at 1992 in Kyoto, Japan, and is now planning to publish encyclopedia on photobiology. |
