Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Asia and Oceania Society for Photobiology (AOSP) and the Photobiology Association of Japan (PAJ), we invite you to attend the 5th Asia and Oceania Conference on Photobiology (AOCP). This international gathering of scientists on Photobiology and related areas will be organized in Nara, Japan, from July 30 to August 1, 2011.
The scientific program of the 5th AOCP will cover all of the major disciplines of contemporary photobiology-related science including physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, and technology. The scientific committee represents a broad diversity of interests in photobiology and, with their input, we are organizing an exciting array of scientific events grouped in thematic sessions listed in the “Topics” (please see attached 1st Announcement PDF file). To generate new research ideas, this conference will provide the unique opportunity for interaction and exchange of ideas among the participants.
The Congress venue will be the Nara Prefectural New Public Hall. It is located in the center of Nara National Park, which is famous for its beauty and 1,200 tame deers. The Hall has an impressive Noh theater, conference rooms, a reception hall and a spacious garden. Nara was the capital of Japan from 710 A.D. to 784 A.D., so it has many historical shrines and temples containing national treasures. Many foreigners visit the city to enjoy various cultures. The Congress attendees will be able to enjoy not only the scientific program but also the culture of Japan.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Nara and we are committed to preparing exciting scientific and cultural program for all participants. We look forward to meeting you all in July 2011 in Nara.
Chandana Haldar (AOSP President)
Tetsuo Majima (5th AOCP President)
